Last year saw us launch our annual Trident Hero Awards on #HousingDay, where we showcased our heroes from across our residents, customers and staff.
#HousingDay is a 24-hour social media event which plays an important role in raising the profile of social housing and ensuring our residents’ voices are heard.
However this year has shown heroes can play even the smallest of parts in our lives and instead of celebrating the few chosen by a dedicated panel, today we celebrate everyone that has helped their fellow neighbours within our homes and communities.
Now in its eighth year, #HousingDay has played an important role in raising the profile of the social housing sector and ensuring the voices of residents are heard. This year's event is particularly important as it supports the national ‘Homes at the Heart’ campaign and coalition calling for a once-in-a-generation investment in social housing.
This year’s theme is The Importance of Home, helping to show the key role a decent, safe and genuinely affordable home plays in people’s lives, not only in times of crisis, but always.
Having a quality and affordable home is key to thriving Trident communities, and we saw this when the Butlers were thrilled with their new home which allowed them to not only downsize but also remain local to the area they have known for up to 40 years. To share your positive stories on the impact social housing has made on you, you can share them via social media by using the hashtag #HousingDay. We, at Trident Group, are looking forward to reading them.
