ASB Awareness Week at Trident 2024
Posted on: 22 Nov 24
What we did this ASB Awareness Week?
Anti social behaviour (ASB) week is an awareness campaign focused on tackling and preventing anti-social behaviour in communities.
We see ASB Week as an opportunity to raise awareness, support victims, promote solutions and encourage community engagement. This is why this year we had a daily schedule to ensure we reached every area both demographically and geographically affected by ASB.
These activities reflect our commitment to creating positive and inclusive environments for every one of our customers.
We want to encourage our residents to speak up and report incidents of ASB and this was a big part of our campaign. We know that tackling these issues begins with open communication, so we worked closely with our communities to make it easier for people to share their concerns.
A big part of this was headed up by the Customer Engagement and Housing teams, who visited various locations, including Trident House, Trident Close, Trident Drive, Chrysanthemum Court and Oaklands.
Here are a few examples of the activities that took place this week.
Chrysanthemum Court
The police from the Derbyshire Constabulary volunteered to visit us at Chrysanthemum Court and have agreed to continue meeting with us every 6 weeks, which we believe will make the area a safer place for our residents.
We also had an open forum for residents to come speak to us about ASB in the Derby area.
Knife Angel – Oldbury
On 18th November our residents and staff visited the Knife Angel, which is a huge sculpture made of the knifes that have been seized and thankfully taken off the streets. The monument is based at Oldbury Council House and serves as a reminder to everyone how important it is to stop violence and end knife crime.
This as a big cultural step and it was a perfect place to visit suring ASB Awareness Week, marking the importance of ending knife crime and keeping our communities safe.
