Trident Group celebrates programme of upskilling employees during National Apprenticeship Week

Posted on: 04 Mar 19

Trident Group will be celebrating National Apprenticeship Week by offering further guidance and opportunities to its current workforce, which has enabled employees to upskill and reskill on the job.

With training agreements with 8 providers, Trident has been able to offer apprenticeship opportunities within housing, care and support roles. Most recently the organisation offered apprenticeships in becoming Maintenance Operatives to two of its Mobile Cleaners who were eager to upskill themselves into roles within the company. It is this desire from employees that has allowed Trident’s Learning and Development Manager, Darren Russell, to extend the apprenticeship programme further throughout the Group.

Whilst supporting 11 employees on their apprenticeships and working to increase this number this year, Darren said: “Since the introduction and implementation of the new Apprenticeship Standards we have seen an increase in take-up in both housing and our care and support services. By identifying the potential in our staff and investing in their development, we have been able to play a huge part in nurturing their talents as well as upskilling them to provide further services throughout the Midlands. We now have active apprentices in front line care and trade services, as well as apprentices working towards their Level 4 and 5 Management Qualification. We now plan to deliver our 1st cohort of apprentice social care workers later this year in the Summer”.
