McDermotts donates £1,000 to Trident Reach

Posted on: 23 Feb 18

A Birmingham based building and civil engineering company presented a cheque for £1,000 today to Trident Reach – a charity that supports over 2,000 vulnerable people across the Midlands.

McDermotts, an organisation that supports some of the country’s largest construction companies, firmly believes in supporting charities both locally and nationally and recently nominated Trident Reach to receive a generous cash donation towards its ‘move on’ appeal. Move on packs, consisting of items such as a bedding and kitchen goods, are given to people when leaving the charity’s supported accommodation and going into their own homes. The donation comes after a suggestion made by the company’s Health and Safety Advisor, Joe McDermott, after learning of the charity’s work from a relative who had previously worked at one of Trident Reach’s services in the city. The donation of £1,000 will be spent on buying items for the appeal.

Malcolm McDermott, Managing Director at McDermotts said: “We are delighted to be supporting the community through the work of Trident Reach in the Midlands area. Our donation towards the ‘move on packs’ will give those in need a helping hand as they take the first steps in setting up their new home.”

Marie Calder, Customer Engagement Officer at Trident Reach said: “We would like to thank the extreme generosity of the team at McDermotts for this donation as it will go onto help many people moving into their own homes. It really is also a testament to the amazing work our frontline staff do that today a donation is being made by someone who learnt of our work from their family member, who worked in our services many years ago.”
