We’re looking for a new Chair of the Board – could it be you?
We’re looking to appoint a new Chair of the Board, who will take up the role in December, as Brian Carr completes his second term as Chair at the end of the year.
Brian leaves the organisation in a very strong position. His tenure has been marked by thoughtful, values-led leadership, a deep commitment to Trident’s purpose, and a steady focus on strengthening governance and Board effectiveness. His contribution has been significant, and the organisation is well placed as a result of the foundations he has helped to build.
We are a G1/ V2/ C2 organisation that puts our customers, communities, and colleagues at the heart of what we do.
We are now seeking a new Chair of the Board who can provide visible, values-led leadership, support a strong Executive Team and help guide Trident through its next phase of growth and improvement.
This is a role for someone who cares deeply about people and communities, brings sound judgement and governance experience, and is motivated by making a genuine difference.
Brian Carr, Chair of the Board, says:
Trident is a remarkable organisation. For more than 60 years, it has provided homes, care and support to people and communities across the Midlands, often working with those facing the greatest challenges.
During my time as Chair, I’ve seen first-hand the dedication of our colleagues, the strength of our values, and the determination to improve and modernise while staying true to our social purpose.
It has been a privilege to serve Trident. I’m excited to see what the future holds under new leadership.
Nigel Wilson, Group Chief Executive, added:
Before looking forward, it’s important to acknowledge the contribution Brian has made. His leadership has been calm, principled and deeply values-led, and he has played a significant role in strengthening our governance, supporting the Executive Team and helping Trident navigate a period of change and improvement. On behalf of the organisation, I want to thank Brian for the commitment, integrity and care he has brought and continues to bring to the role.
Trident is an organisation with a proud history and an equally important future – providing homes, care and support to people and communities across the Midlands, often at times when they need us most. I’m incredibly proud of the progress we’ve made and excited about what comes next.
