With 1 in 5 of the UK population living below the poverty line, we as an organisation see the effects it has on the customers we support.

Trident Reach’s foodbank provision helps vulnerable individuals and families in crisis through the provision of emergency food supplies whilst a longer-term solution is developed. The service we provide has an enormous impact on the customers who use the foodbank, offering the customer important breathing space at a time of great need.

We felt that there was a need to set up a small foodbank resource for our customers who are experiencing real hardship. The Black Country Foodbank has joined in partnership with Trident Reach to be part of a project that makes a real difference to the lives of those in crisis and provide our charity with much needed supplies.

With the ramification of welfare reform, implementation of Universal Credit and the impact from Covid-19 being felt nationally, we are now helping both individuals and families of up to 8 people requiring emergency food supplies. This naturally takes a toll on our supplies and we are constantly fundraising for donations of either food/drink or money to refresh our supplies.

You can help us by donating either financially or in food supplies. To speak to us about our foodbank and on how you can help, please contact us on communications@tridentgroup.org.uk or ring 0121 633 4633 (ext. 1093).

People coming into our services may have arrived with nothing due to the difficult circumstances and hardships they may have faced.

The ‘Just In Case’ Appeal gives people a few basic toiletries to get started within their new home.

Below are the many different ways you can help the appeal:

  • You could have a cake sale, do a marathon or simply have a whip round in your place of work or study for loose change. All the money donated will go to making these packs up!
  • Donate unused toiletries based items. Think basics but also donate “extra comfort” products if you can, to make a box even more special!
  • Make a pack extra special by making one up yourself and donating it. All you need to do is: find a shoebox or bag, decide on whether it’s for a female or a male and fill it with unused toiletries. Once you’ve done this, get in touch with Lucy Owen, Communications and Fundraising Manager, by emailing communications@tridentgroup.org.uk or ringing 0121 633 4633 (ext. 1093).
