    What we can do

    • We can speak to your neighbour for you (if you’ve already tried)
    • We may send a letter explaining the issue and asking them to reduce the noise
    • We may offer a meeting (mediation) to help you and your neighbour find a solution
    • We can work with the police if you have reported the issue to them
    • We can work with other services if support is needed to reduce the problem
    • We may use Acceptable Behaviour Agreements to help people change their behaviour
    • In serious cases, we can take legal action, including going to court

      What other agencies can do

      What the council can do

      • Your local council can act if they have enough evidence of a noise problem
      • They can send a Noise Abatement Notice to tell someone to stop the noise
      • If the noise continues, they may take legal action
      • They can remove items causing the noise, like speakers or TVs

If your home is managed by another agent

      • Another managing agent may be able to take action
      • Trident will let you know if this applies to your home
