Criminal Behaviour
Criminal behaviour can include things like damage to property, threats, verbal abuse, violence, burglary, fraud, or vehicle-related offences. These actions are serious and usually break the terms of a tenancy, which means Trident may take enforcement action.
If you think a crime has happened, report it to the police by calling 999 in an emergency or 101 in a non-emergency. You can also use the police website or contact Crimestoppers. After reporting it, please let Trident know so we can understand the situation and look at what action we can take.

What you can do
Use the ASB App to record sounds, take photos or videos (if it is safe), and keep a log of incidents
If you can’t use the app, email asbenquiries@tridentgroup.org.uk to request incident log sheets
Report any incidents to the police straight away, as well as logging them with us
Keep any evidence (if safe) until the police have had a chance to investigate
Share any police reference numbers with Trident
Support any action by giving statements or attending court if needed
If there is violence or threats, think about staying somewhere safe, like with family or friends
Let the police and Trident know where you are so we can stay in touch
What we can do
We will work with the police to support their investigation
We will only carry out our own checks if it does not interfere with the police
We may work with other services to support you, your household, or the person involved
We can take tenancy action, including applying to court in serious cases
If someone is convicted, we may be able to take further action, including ending their tenancy
We will offer support to victims and make safeguarding referrals if needed
We may look at ways to make your home safer, if this is suitable and you agree
We can work with the police on community solutions
In very serious cases, we may offer temporary accommodation if you are at high risk
What other agencies can do
What the police can do
The police can arrest, charge and take people to court for criminal offences
They can apply for Closure Orders to close a property for a period of time in serious cases
They can collect and share evidence with Trident so we can take action, although this may sometimes happen after a court case
The police can take evidence and secure crime scenes while they investigate
They may ask you to share information or evidence to help their investigation
They can use other powers to help stop further problems, such as dispersal orders or Community Protection Notices
They can also apply for Criminal Behaviour Orders to help control someone’s actions
Other services and support programmes are available to help people move away from criminal behaviour
