Co-operative housing is run by residents who live in their properties giving more control and decision making to residents.
Co-operative members attend monthly meetings and make key decisions on repairs and housing matters. Living in a housing co-operative can be a good way to get affordable housing and may give individuals more control over where they live.
We are a managing agent supporting 5 co-operatives across the Midlands with property support and housing management.
Co-operatives are still governed by the Regulator for Social Housing. We have placed their annual complaints performance and service improvement report; the governing body’s response to the report; the self-assessment; and complaints performance under each of their names.

Balsall Heath Housing Co-operative Limited
Balsall Heath was formed in 1977 to meet the needs of people in Housing Need in the local community. The co-operative is proud of both the community and the members who have worked over many years to provide a vibrant place to live where people can thrive.

Paddock Housing Co-operative Limited
In 1984 several families living in the high-rise flats in Chuckery, Walsall, who were tired of waiting for council properties came together. Since then, 46 homes are now being managed by Paddock co-operative.

Shahjalal Housing Co-operative Limited
Shahjalal Housing Co-operative was set up by the Bangladeshi community in Aston and Saltley. Shahjalal in its present form came into existence nearly 15 years ago to: “provide housing and related services that are designed to meet the needs and aspirations of the Bangladeshi community and of other communities in the areas where SHC works”. It is the largest coop that Trident now help manage.

South Road Housing Co-operative
South Road is a successful tenant run organisation providing homes to 35 people in the Lozells and Handsworth areas. Its main aim at present is to re-house families in housing need but they have expressed a wish in the future to turn to re-housing people who are elderly and disabled.
