Last week we held Trident’s first Leadership and Management Conference which was an opportunity for our leadership and management team to connect with our strategic goals for the year; learn about new technology and resources being implemented to support colleagues; and to offer opportunities to connect with peers.
Nic Bliss, campaigner, presented a session on the Stop the Social Housing Stigma campaign and how managers and leaders can tackle social housing stigma in Trident. Managers were impressed with the session and reflected on the choice of terminology and how their can be a habit to use martial language (e.g. “frontline staff”) rather than collaborative. This continues to build on the commitment from Trident as a pioneer travel with the campaign.
At the Conference, the People and Culture team also launched their brand-new Trident Talent Academy opening development opportunities for colleagues at every stage of their career. This programme includes opportunities for formal training with professional bodies such as the Chartered Institute of Housing alongside professional qualifications, apprenticeships, development pathways, and coaching sessions with People and Culture teams and professional mentorship. This builds on our commitment to the Competence and Conduct Standard with 26 managers being supported onto Level 3, 4, and 5 CIH approved qualifications.
Trident were proud to be joined by key partners as part of our commitment to refresh, refocus, and renew as we look to a modernised approach to our services. Our partners included Rubixx, Cezanne, Learning Curve Group, Housing Diversity Network, Health Assured and the Chartered Institute of Housing.
The event was successful with colleagues feeling positive and able to reconnect with other colleagues and Trident objectives. One colleague said:
“The most valuable part of the day was reflecting on the progress made over the past year, gaining insight into the transformation work taking place across the organisation, and hearing the shared vision, learning opportunities and priorities for the future. It was also a great opportunity to connect with colleagues and learn from different perspectives.”
