Our residents and staff recently came together at one of our Birmingham adult services to celebrate the start of Ramadan.
Ramadan is an important time for many Muslims. It is a month focused on kindness, reflection, and supporting others. Some people fast during the day and then come together in the evening to share a meal.
The event gave everyone the chance to eat together, talk, and feel connected. It was open to people of all faiths and no faith, including staff, which helped create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
It was lovely to see every resident of all beliefs attend and take part in the celebration. After the event one resident shared:
“This event was the best one. We felt like a family sharing food together. The support makes it hard for us to leave.”
Another added:
“Since October, we’ve had more events and fun activities, like Christmas. But this Ramadan celebration was very special.”
Our domestic abuse team are deeply committed to the wellbeing of everyone they support.
They regularly go the extra mile to organise events and activities that help residents feel happy, valued, and included. Being culturally inclusive is a key part of the team’s work, and residents have shared how much of a positive difference this has made in their lives.
